From floating markets in the Mekong River, to steaming pho soups and conical hats, Vietnam is one of the most intriguing places to visit. Whether you are an adventurer or a historical traveler, visiting this country is one thing that you should add to your bucket list. That said, before you enjoy the splendid deltas of the Red River, taste the fresh produce sold in the floating market or even try an authentic pho noodle soup, there are some things that you should consider especially when it comes to visa requirements and other travel documents.

Travel Requirements

Travelling to another country would mean that you need to obtain a visa first before you are allowed to enter the country. Visa requirements depend on which country you are a citizen of. Are you a citizen of one of the 23 countries that have an agreement with Vietnam? Most of the countries that are exempted are those that belong to the ASEAN organization (Example countries include: Brunei, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, and Thailand). If you belong to one of these countries then you do not need to apply for a visa before travelling to the country. Do note that length of stay differs depending on the country so it is important that you should check if you have a month visa-free stay in the country or just 2-weeks. Some countries are also given a visa-free access and staying in the country also depends on the passport one have. why not try these out

What happens if My Country is not exempted?

If your country is not included in the countries mentioned above then you need to get a visa in order to visit. There are numerous agencies that offer visa services; however, you need to check whether they are legal or not. Contacting the consulate or embassy in your country can help you touch base with an authorized agency. There are some agencies that also offer "visa on arrival". One only has to apply online and collect their visa upon arrival; however, one should only deal with legitimate agencies to prevent any problems when you arrive.

Travelling for Business Purposes

If you are travelling for business purposes, it is recommended that the company that is hiring you or hosting your stay apply for your visa. Once the visa is approved, the local authorities will send a copy of the letter to the Vietnamese embassy located in your country. Some countries might require additional documents and as such it is important that you check the latest updates especially for fee payments and other requirements.
